Patriots just gave up their 2nd and 7th round picks for this guy, who was MIA #1 receiver last year. Lets hop he can do some goo for us.

It's acutally "Welker" and he's a solid return man, but a 2nd round pick for him? :dismay:

Edited to spell his name right.

It was more of a gain for Miami than a loss for the Patriots, due to their two first-rounders.

My apologies...:sigh: ...Is there a WR better than Welker that can be taken in the second round? That's the question.

I honestly don't think there's a great WR who would last to the 28th pick of the second round, no. I still like taking Sidney Rice, Dwayne Bowe, or another WR with the first first-rounder, and FB Brian Leonard with the second, since he presumably won't last until the third round.

They have two first round draft picks, they can afford to trade for him and still come out on top. They can trade one and get a second round pick in a position and an additional pick or two in the later rounds. Plus now that they have Thomas signed, Welker signed, and possibly even getting Dante Stallworth they have three huge needs filled.

I completely agree. (There's a first time for everything!)
