Sophomore Joey Halzle is shown as the backup QB on the team's depth chart. He's from Junior College, so he has had college experience.

I still think Oklahoma will be fine, Paul Thompson will be moved back to QB and Joey Halzle has starting experience in college football. I thought that they and Texas were just about even though so this may give Texas an advantage in the south division but if Oklahoma gets by Texas I still think they can make a BCS Bowl without Bomar and Thompson will be a capable quarterback. This talk about Oklahoma lacking depth at the position is not true at all.

I'd say bummer, but I like Texas. ;)

The advantage of a two qb system. Everybody claims to hate it, but would make this situation a lot easier.
I prefer Texas to Oklahoma but feel for the fans of a team whose season is in many respects ruined due to one player's stupid decisions.
But my question is this, and I'm sure I will get some flack for raising the issue: Why when Oklahoma's quarterback does something bad is the response of sympathy for Bob Stoops and the Oklahoma program wheras when Troy Smith (Ohio State) made a stupid decision a year ago most of the flack went to Jim Tressel and the "out of control" (a rediculous claim given Tressel's classroom-first coaching style) program. Not trying to start a fight but want to bring up that point.

Just a guess, redbuck, but probably the fans of each school,
like the fans of each NFL and MLB team, have their own style
or persona if you will.
Fans of the Cubs cheer them on slapdash season after
slapdash season, while in Philadelphia Santa gets booed!
