How do you guys think Reggie Bush will fare in his first pro season? He managed to sign his contract without really angering the people of New Orleans too bad, and he didn't miss much camp time, so barring injury he should be prepared. Is he going to split carries with Deuce McAllister? Will he top the 1000 yard mark? Is he the LeBron James of the NFL?

Dare I say Reggie will split carries with Deuce for most of the year (as has been reported), it'd be an odd move to not have him get a fair amount of reps this year. I see Reggie ending up with more yards (I'm inclined to say he'll get 1000 yards) but Deuce having more scores (similar to Bush and White at USC).

This is all speculation on my part (so take it for what it is).

I've heard that Duece is going to be the main back, while Bush will catch alot of balls out of the backfield. Personally, I think Bush is a tad overrated. I hope he proves me wrong, for New Orleans sake, but he kind of reminds me of Thurman Thomas. Yeah, he's a good back (8th all-time in yards from scrimmage), but his college backup might end up being a better pro. Thomas had Barry Sanders (fifth all-time in yards from scrimmage) backing him up in college, while Bush had the sledgehammer-like LenDale White. I do believe he'll have a great career, like Thomas, but I don't think he's as good as most are giving him credit for. I guess that's why they play the games, though.

I would think that the Saints will mainly have Bush running back kicks, and catching passes. He will probably spell Deuce somewhat, or if Deuce comes in hurt, fill in. However, Bush has never been a featured back in college, and probably won't be one in the Pros. Don't get me wrong, they will come up with ways for Reggie to touch the ball an X amount of times per game, but it wont be a sa featured RB. Reggie + football in his hands = Exciting. I imagine you will see him line up in slots and out wide to try and get some mismatches in the passing game for the Saints. Dont be surprised to some some packages with Deuce and Reggie both out on the field at the same time.

Reggie Bush is the next Warrick Dunn. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years from now we don't look back at this rookie crop of running backs and wonder how we ever thought Bush was going to be better than the Jerome Bettis-like Lendale White.

Chris Brown already wants off the Titans because he knows he's not going to get any carries with White in town.

I'm watching the Saints play on the NFL network and Reggie Bush just made two of the most amazing plays I've seen since the prime days of Barry Sanders or Terrell Davis. Wow is a vast understatement.

On one play he was totally boxed in, he reversed field and went for about 44 yards. I think I'm going to have to re-evaluate Reggie Bush. I didn't think his game would translate to the NFL. I was wrong.

Cough* Preseason Cough*

Don't get too excited on two plays, wait till it is for real. I am not saying this might not be for real, I am just saying that wait till they are trying harder.

Reggie Bush and LenDale White both went to USC (my favorite team since the age of seven), so I like them both. It was a miracle for me on draft day when Bush didn't go to the Texans and Leinart didn't go to the Titans, instead going to the Cardinals.

10 years from now this is going to be one of those "sratch you head and wonder" drafts. The best QB is the third QB picked in the draft. People will probably be wondering who Vince Young was, a few might remember that one Rose Bowl.

The running backs will ultimately define this draft. I think LenDale is going to be great. Bush already is playing great. But add in Joseph Addai and Laurence Maroney and this this will be remember as the year of the running back.

Ya, Maroney looked pretty good in that game against the Falcons. If I was Corey Dillon, I would be looking over my back. I don't know how the heck Bellichek does it every year, but the rich just keep getting richer. Not only did they grab a stud RB, but nabbed a #1 potential WR in Chad Jackson, 2 great TE options in Dave Thomas and Garrett Mills, and a strong footed K in Gostkowski. I can not believe that they can continually do this on draft day.

One that you forgot FJ, is DeAngelo Williams in Carolina. Playing behind brittle Foster, we may see him as one of the first break out rookie backs.

Reggie Bush is the most exciting RB to step onto a football field since Barry Sanders in his glory days. Period.

*BUMP*

Now that the season is almost over, has he lived up to the hype? (ok, it's a stupid question, dare I say, he could have never reached the level of hype he received) Also, is he the player you thought he'd be?

He's about where I thought he'd be in his first pro season. A very good third-down back and a good kick returner. Of course, he's more than that.

Reggie Bush showed a lot of potential this year. But in the NFL, potential is a dirty word. His flashes of athletic brilliance were dulled by long stretches as Duece's decoy.

Sean Payton is a Bill Parcells disciple and one thing has always been true about Parcells -- he likes his backs to split carries. Payton seems the same way and that could be bad for Bush.

I'd be surprised if Bush keeps returning punts and kicks next year. That could further diminish his value. The Saints paid a lot of money for Bush and they got something much more valuable than a great running back: HYPE.

The real question is how does Bush react to this. If he flips out this off-season and demands that he be the primary back and it goes public -- that could get ugly. Of course with the average shelf life of an NFL running back and Duece's long history of injuries, Bush would probably be better off just letting the game take it's course and then taking over as the primary back.

The NFL hasn't hyped a player like it hyped Reggie since 2001 when Michael Vick came into the league. And the last time I checked Vick has yet to live up to his potential (and probably never will). Only time will tell if Bush is the next Vick.

Actually, I think he is on par as to where everyone from the Saints has expected.

He has flashes of greatness but realizes it is a team sport, and let's be honest, the team he is playing for has had an outstanding season... Which has taken pressure off of him shoulders since he is not depended on to turn things around... (IE Vince Young)

I give him props... only great things to come from this young back... he has another year to shine before he is shown up by Darren McFadden...<< look him up!!! HAHAHA
