I can see them getting around 9 or 10 wins this season. Like the Tigers, the coaching staff will prove to be a huge difference, even with most of the roster unchanged. Attitude has alot to do with success in anything, and hopefully the players can take Marinelli's attitude and run with it. Of course, health is always key too. We need to stay healthy, have a few overachievers, and play hard. I like the talent on this team, so perhaps 10 wins could even be a low estimate on my account. I'm sure there will be plenty of disagreement, but that's what this forum is for, right?

I think Kitna was a good pick up for you guys, and considering you play the Vikings and Packers twice, not to mention the NFC West, I have you guys in around .500. I hope things keep going well for Detroit.
You are meat the first week though ;)

Meat, huh? You'd better hope so, a loss to the Lions is not the proper way to start another run to the Super Bowl. ;)
I like Kitna. I think we overpaid for our QB's, though. Kitna was obviously going to be the starter, then we sign McCown for just as much. Many people with inside knowledge are saying that Dan Orlovsky is looking really good, and he's signed for cheap. We may end up hindering ourselves with McCown's contract, especially if he ends up being the third-string QB. Either way, we can't do much worse with the three guys we have than what we've been getting from Little Joey Twinkle Toes.

Ok...I voted for 7-8, but that's just cause there was no 6-7 on the board. My thinking is this, it is going to take the team defense about half the season to realize that staying where they are supposed to is better then trying to break up plays as individuals. It happened that way when they first implemented the Tampa 2 in TB....and I trust that those fellows were even better individual players then what the Lions feature. Perhaps had Martz been around a little longer or at least a protege of his, the offense would be able to carry the D while it goes through the above mentioned growing pains. I feel however that the offense will have its own growing pains as it tries to cram in about 3.5 NFL playbooks into one scheme. With that said, I see the 2-6 Lions going into the second half maybe with enough expierence, and offense to fininsh off the season 4-4 maybe even 5-3....for a total of 6 or 7 wins.
The 5-3 finish if it happens will give us some hope going into next year for the first time in many years...At least until Oakland or some other poor preformer snatches away Martz as their head coach. <shrugs> GO LIONS

I'm thinking like three wins, probably Green Bay in week 3, possibly Minnesota in week 5, and likely Chicago in week 16 -- as it's a Lions' home game and the Bears will certainly be resting all their starters by then in anticipation of the playoffs.
That's probably "good" enough to get them the top overall pick in the 2007 Draft.

We lost both of those games you predicted us to win, so I guess we're only looking at one win this season. I think our best chance to take a game from someone would have to be against either the Niners, Cardinals, or Packers. I have to re-adjust my vote now. I can't believe I had them winning 9-10 games. It'll more realistically be 2-3, and yet another high draft pick.
Keep this in mind: had the Lions lost that last game of last season, we would have had the #2 overall draft choice (aka Reggie Bush). What a bummer, we lose when we win, I guess. That's the Lions for you.
