With Martin's current inability to play, the Jets have 2 options at RB

Cedric Houston and Derrick Blaylock. Of those 2, who do you guys think is the better starting RB?

I think it will be Blaylock because he has more experience then 2nd-yr Houston and he's smaller which is always an advatage to the Jets running game (assuming the O-line can hold up).

Also, keep in mind that the purpose of this poll is in the event that Martin can't play who will be the best to fill in his role.

I'd take a shot with Leon Washington before I'd go with either of those washouts.

I guess there is no point in discussing this anymore now that they got Barlow.

I really must be psychic, two months back on this very thread I said go with Leon Washington and he's sure turned into a stud running back. Of course he had the Florida State pedigree -- and I'm sure that had nothing to do with my prediction.

Rookie Leon Washington has rushed for 346 on 71 attempts for an average of 4.9! He's scored two touchdowns and hasn't fumbled once. In the last three weeks he's rushed for 288 yards. The Jets need to keep handing this guy the ball -- with half a season still to go I bet he could crack the 1,200 yard barrier if started every week.

Maybe acquiring TJ Duckett wouldn't have hurt either.

To have a trifecta of over-rated and useless running backs? The unholy trinity of T.J. Duckett, Cedric Houston & Derrick Blaylock?

Ron Dayne was out there too. So if they couldn't have got Duckett maybe they could have got Dayne.

football junkie sure has egg on his face after what Houston did last Sunday in Green Bay.

Yeah, sure do, because one 105-yard rushing game really makes a career for a running back these days!

And to accomplish it against Green Bay, a team averaging 117.4 rushing yards allowed per game -- good for 17th place in the NFL just makes it all the more special.

Do you even follow the Jets or know how many different RBs they've started this year?

Lest anyone forget, the "great" Cedric Houston has exactly 227 rushing yards this year. He had 302 rushing yards during all of last year. And his previous rushing yard high total in a game was 84 in week 15 of 2005.

Yeah this guy sure is something special.

Do your research before you start casting eggs.

Bunch of idiots at this site.

Houston
missed games this year due to an injury. If you watch the Jets like I do, you know he is their best running back. Also, last year he started games after Martin got lost for the season and he was pretty good except for the NE MN debacle.

Nice egg, junkie. It'll be there again.

I think you better watch who you call an idiot.

As for Houston being the being the running back on the Jets, why did he only gain 2.9 per carry on the 18 rushing attempts the Jets gave him against the Bills last week?

Leon Washington gained more yards than Houston on a third of the carries and averaged 7.9 yards per rushing attempt.

For the season, Washington, a rookie, has 566 rushing yards for an average of 4.5. Houston has 277 rushing yards for an average of 3.6. I think the number speak for themself.
