I forgot about Carney, but when you think about it the players might have been active, but not on the game. The three I had in mind were Landeta, Testaverde, and Ricky Proehl. I'll have to research and see if I can get rosters from the game.

You have to remember Wikipedia is user-edited, everything may not be factual and I just checked this website (it hasn't been updated since 2002) and they only have Sean Landeta on their rosters.

I look at this FAQ for the Tecmo Super Bowl teams. It's excellent: all you have to do is search it to see if people are in the game. So the list so far, with people who were one teams at the end of the season:

1. Morten Andersen (Saints - Falcons)
2. Ricky Proehl (Cardinals - Colts)
3. John Carney (Chargers - Saints)
4. Vinny Testaverde (Buccaneers - Patriots)

Ah, but there's Tecmo Bowl, and there's also Tecmo Super Bowl. Two different games. Tecmo Bowl only had twelve teams.

I played Tecmo Bowl at my friend's house about a year ago. We've come a long way.

I found it among a pile of my older cousin's video games. I was a fiend for Tecmo Super Bowl, I'm sure I played a whole season in one day! The thing about the game is that I learned a lot about players in the early 90's.
