I was on Wikipedia the other day and read that Jeff Garcia was named the 2007 Eagles starter and that McNabb may request a trade to Buffalo. Now I don't know if there's merit to this, but last I checked the Bills still have a young QB that showed some promise and McNabb is on the wrong side of thirty and has been injury and choke prone. Now I like McNabb as a person, he's a great guy and truly a funny character, however as a player...ehh I have my criticisms. However, maybe a change of scenery may re-energize his career. He's been hurt the last few seasons, and after a few key pics the last time that he was really healthy (the Super Bowl) maybe he can use a move to Buffalo. The problem is, Buffalo doesn't have much around them. Also they have the Jets and the Pats in their divisions, so it'll be tough for them to make the playoffs anytime soon.

Now I doubt that this is true, since McNabb is the most popular Philly athlete since Rocky...but have any of you heard anything?

100% not true, thats the problem with Wikipedia, it's very opinionated and some of it isn't true. Think about, McNabb was having a great season before he got hurt, why would they trade him?

There is a basis in reality. The Eagles would be fools to not consider shopping him around to other teams in order to get a draft pick. They have a decent QB who can carry them to the playoffs again and they can use the additional draft picks to restock the team with talent. McNabb has been injured three times in the last five years- he is going to get injured again, it's only a matter of time.

Plus he is getting up there in age...how many good seasons does he have left? If they can get a good draft pick package why not?

I would shop him around too, but only to gauge interest. Why would you trade one of the best QBs in the game (injuries or not)?

Because you have one that fits better in your team, and he's on the wrong side of thirty...also he seems to be very injury prone. You could get two first rounders for him, and set up your team for the next five years.

Actually, his injuries have knocked him out of the top 5 and even the top 10 at this point in his career- he just isn't the same exciting guy he used to be. He will injure himself again and if they wait too long they are going to be in a lurch with no one to carry the team. They got lucky by having Jeff Garcia, they won't get lucky again...

They aren't getting him back next year for most of the year, they can use the draft picks to groom a decent replacement and restock their aging team, Garcia is actually working out well for them(the numbers don't lie, compare them), they can actually get something trading him now than letting him go for nothing later.
