Tom Coughlin

I wanted to talk about him. You all obviously have heard all the negative media about him and the Giants. There was talk that he would be fired before he got the contract extension. What are your thoughts about him? Is his style what the Giants need right now or should they have looked for someone else?

I think keeping him wasn't as much an endorsement for Coughlin as it was acknowledgment that there is not really anyone else out there that the Giants would have preferred,

As for his style, I like him as a coach, but I think he needs to be even firmer. Some of the veterans on the team seem to have taken over (Tiki, Strahan, Shockey, etc.). He needs to get these players in line. I think he'll have a much easier time once Tiki is gone.

I don't think a "player's coach" would really work with this team. The team totally lacks discipline. Coughlin has a reputation for being a discipline coach. We haven't really seen it here, but this is the kind of coach they need
