Looks like Florida's second "touchdown" could be a turning point. He was evidently down before he got in... I see what people mean about the review process now.

there was not an angle that would show where the ball was when his knee hit...

it very well could have been over the line when the knee went down...

Without a doubt one of my favorite Championship games of recent years. I was a hard line supporter of Florida being in this game from the onset. Hehe, gonna be funny to see all the crow people will be eating for this one.

I've been telling people all week that OSU looked overconfident; like they thought the #1 ranking was a birthright, not something that they had to earn; and that they thought flying to Arizona was all they had to do to collect "their" trophy.

Also, once they beat Michigan, they thought their season was complete.

They sure played like that game could be mailed in. Florida State, on the other hand, played great and deserved to win.

I've got this incredible feeling of deja vu...as a Detroit Tigers fan, watching them with the best record in baseball for much of the season taking a dive into second place on the last day.

(Can you tell by my helmet that I've gotten used to losing?)

While the team seemed confident, the fans around here were bursting with overconfidence and self-entitlement. A friend of mine, an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, kept saying throughout the Michigan game the one thing so many of these fans needed was a little dose of humility. Yeah, living in Ohio now I did want to see OSU win. But I dreaded hearing about it if they did. I remember the grief I got in 2003 simply because I have a Michigan license plate. Not U-M. Just the state of Michigan.
Of course, when I got to Florida in March I'll have to deal with football and basketball folk. Oh, wait, they don't care about the Gators in South Florida. Nevermind.

I'm not sure if I actually gave a prediction on this game or not, but I'll eat some crow anyways because I thought there was no way Florida could win. I enjoyed the game anyways, though, since I usually root for underdogs, being a fan of underdogs my whole life.

Mmmmmmm, crow.....

That was an awesome game. The turning point definitley was that second Gator's TD. The video evidence looked quite conclusive to me that he was down before he got in.

Either way, the Gators played a great game (obviously). I kind of wish it had been closer for longer, but it was still great to watch. This is the first Gators game I've seen all year, and I must say that Tebow is quite a weapon. I wouldn't want to defend against him.

I'm glad that I watched this game instead of writing an essay. My teacher wasn't at school today anyways!

I thought OSU would win, though I thought it would be interesting to see who OSU's defense, which had only seen traditional offenses, would react to Urban Meyer's twin-QB scheme, and the spread offense. Turns out they weren't ready for it.

I wrote my essay this morning and from 6-8 last night. And it's actually pretty good.

IMO, the turning point was the first pick Smith threw. OSU felt like they had a chance after Harvin's TD, but after that, they really stopped playing like a #1 team.

Article from Fox Sports:

Athletes, please celebrate responsibly (http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/6354612?FSO1&ATT=HCP&GT1=9012)

There's a telling picture in the article...

Like a flash of lightning, Ted Ginn Jr. bolted through a block, made a cut, and struck the open field.

Could there be a more exhilarating start to a game?
He soared past the 30, cruised past midfield, and the rest was history ... touchdown and an early 7-0 Ohio State lead. The junior from Cleveland had given the Buckeyes the perfect statement out of the gates — a 93-yard kickoff return on the opening play of the BCS title game.

Ted Ginn Jr. is tackled by teammate Roy Hall (8) after Ginn returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Ginn was hurt during the celebration. (Chris Russell, Columbus Dispatch / Associated Press)

And then disaster struck.

Though reports differ, early word Monday evening was that while celebrating the dazzling touchdown score, the Buckeyes' most explosive offensive weapon since Joey Galloway tweaked his ankle. Within minutes, the All-Big 10 performer was limping off the field behind the end zone and into the trainer's office. He spent the rest of the game on the sidelines, hobbling on a crutch, with his ankle in an ominous black boot. The Buckeyes' human highlight film never returned. Ginn's final stat line? One play, a 93-yard kickoff return for a TD. No receptions, no carries, no punt returns. Just that one, lone play.

And of course, the fateful celebration.

Ohio State's passing game suffered as a result of his absence. Without his top wideout and childhood best friend running routes, Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith played his worst game as a collegiate player, going 4-14 for 35 yards and an interception. In the end, Florida wiped the floor with the heavily favored Buckeyes, taking home their first national championship in ten years with a dominant 41-14 win.

Would Ginn's presence have made a difference in the outcome of the game? It's not likely. The Gators were faster, smarter, and coached better than the Buckeyes on Monday evening. But a Ginn play here and a Ginn play there—and it could have been a completely different story. We'll truly never know.

Well, I remember that during the 2006 Winter Olympics, in the Women's Snowboard Cross event, Lindsey Jacobellis was approaching the end of the course with a 43-meter (140-foot), three-second lead over Tanja Frieden of Switzerland. On the second-to-last jump, Jacobellis attempted a backside method grab, landed on the edge of her snowboard, and fell. Frieden passed her to win the gold; Jacobellis settled for silver.

Thats even worse. Losing the gold for our country, not just a state.

And let us not forget Leon Lett.
