The Larry Brown of football is leaving the Dolphins to coach at Alabama.
Saban's agreement with Alabama is for eight years and a fully-guaranteed $32 million, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports. Saban can potentially earn an additional $700,000 to $800,000 annually in bowl-game bonuses.

Isn't this the same guy who said, "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." What happened to loyalty?

You have to have some to be loyal. What will this be, his fourth job in eight years? He's becoming the Larry Brown of football.

I feel bad for Miami, since Don Shula retired they simply have never been able to stay consistantly good enough to keep a decent coach around...
Now this brings about a nice debate- who should Miami trick, I mean hire as their new head coach?

Beats me, who would want to coach such an inconsistent team? Ricky Williams is returning in 2007 and Culpepper will be back from injury, but this team just can't put together the wins to be an elite AFC team.

Williams is done, he squandered his career with wacky weed and won't ever be the same again. He's been in the league for 9 years already, almost all running backs are on their downward slope and considering how poorly he did up in Canada it pretty much confirms he's going to be a nonfactor next year...
Culpepper will be back but two words will do him in: Florida Marlins. He's an injury waiting to happen until the sod over the baseball diamond sets...
A bloody shame they squandered the talents of Thomas and Taylor, those two should have led the team to a Super Bowl already and instead are more likely to end their careers elsewhere or without ever making an appearence if things keep up.
