What happened?

Didn't the Falcons start the season 5-1? I'm pretty sure they did. What happened to them? It's not like they lost Mike Vick or anything. I know Mora Jr. is on the hot seat, is it his playcalling? Is it Vick's fault?

The reason the Falcons won't make the playoffs is because of consistency. Earlier in the season they dominated other teams with a potent running game and a stout defense. Mike Vick won 2 games in a row with his passing and he decided he wanted to be a pocket QB, when that happened the consistency left. They didn't stick to the bread and butter and it resulted in a non-playoff season. The Falcons incosistency could result in the firing of Jim Mora. Like I always say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Vick doesn't have the receivers to go ahead and decide to be a "pocket" passer. I like Mora and his attitude, but if he decided to go away from what was working, and then missed the playoffs because of it, then he deserves to be fired. The next coach needs to let Vick be Vick instead of trying to force him into a system he's not comfortable with. It seems to be working in Tennessee.

Welcome to Pigskin-Fever, Romosexual, it's great to see new members around PSF!! Yes, the trouble does have a lot to do with the receivers those guys have been very incosistent. I'd like to see the Falcons spend a draft pick or money on a reciever, but seeing how they've underperformed in the last few years I wouldn't take the risk. Mike Vick needs a strong recieving core if the running game isn't on its cues, when Brian Finneran returns next year the Falcons recieving core will be a lot stronger.

Finneran will help, i'm actually a fan of his, but a good possesion reciever would go a long ways to help the team, maybe Keyshawn? Vick needs help in that department, no doubt. Draft picks do seem to be very hit or miss from the draft, you're definately right there.
