I know I'm not alone in voicing my surprise that Jeff Garcia has seemingly righted the ship and is the QB leading the team (confidently) into the playoffs. Sure, McNabb was having a good season prior to his injury but under Garcia the offense looks a little more fluid.

I must say that I am impressed with Jeff's performances this year and however far the team happens to go in the playoffs I will be pleased with that.

Here (http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/16317577.htm) is a decent column about how this year has become "Garcia's season".

I'm really happy for the Eagles' fans, and for Jeff Garcia, on this recent success. Garcia was beginning to look a bit washed-up, taking a back-up job on a team with a very solid QB already in place. He's getting up there in age, and since he's small and is a scrambling QB, it looked like his Pro-Bowl days were done. Of course, everyone was looking at his career post-Detroit, which meant he still had plenty to offer, they just couldn't see it. I bet Jon Kitna could be pretty darn good with another offense to work with as well.

Anyways, it's good to see that the Eagles weren't sunk after all, and neither was Jeff Garcia. Last week's win over TO and the 'Boys must have been great. Good luck in the playoffs. I'll be rooting for you guys to take it all (I like underdogs, and this is a great story).

Thanks for the support in the playoffs Raco.

I agree with what you said about Garcia, accepting backup jobs in Detroit and Cleveland probably aren't a good indicator of whether a player still has "it" (no offense to you as a Lions fan). I will concede that for Garcia to be effective (and given his age those qualities are likely to diminish rather quickly over the next couple of years) as he has been this season he needs established players (as opposed to the younger, more inexperienced talent of his prior two jobs) and he needs a West Coast styled offense. Both of which he seems to have found in Philly but probably doesn't bode well for teams that are thinking that they can sign him for next year and expect him to be as successful.

I totally agree with ya there -- I was incredibly surprised that Garcia could take over and do so well. He may be the first Eagle I ever root for. McNabb takes a lot of crit. for choking in the playoffs.... if the Eagles lose this year, they won't have him there to take the heat.

Btw, i'm EvanAparra on BBF. :)

I'm kinda dissapointed that there wasn't more effort put into keeping him. Though he has more chance of starting for the Bucs than for the Eagles.

For the remainder of his career I will have admiration for what he did whilst with the team.
