If we lose this one, we're one step away from clinching that #1 overall draft pick, which is something that Lions fans have wanted ever since Millen took all hope away from the franchise. Last year we dropped from the #2 slot to the #9 slot. Sure, Ernie Sims is pretty good, and he filled a much-needed position. But was he, or will he ever be, as good as Reggie Bush or Vince Young? No. But the Lions always seem to pull off an upset at the worst possible time for the team. Am I saying a win can be bad? Yes I am.
Luckily for us, the Bears have no intentions of resting their starters for the upcoming playoffs. As a matter of fact, they are probably licking their chops, waiting for another chance to put a good schellacking on Detroit and thier big mouths. Earlier this season, Roy Williams said something to the effect that "the Bears didn't beat us, we beat ourselves" and "we left at least 40 points out on the field" even though they finished with nothing near that total. Marinelli is sticking to his guns and staying with Kitna at QB, even though it would be a great time to see what McCown can do for the final two games. I'm sure Mike Williams would love to see McCown in there at QB, since it'll mean he'll get a better chance to catch a pass (with McCown not at WR).
Okay, this is probably going to be the most lop-sided game in Lions history, and supposedly the fans are going to walk out early in the game in protest of the owner and front-office. Look for a big game from the Bears' Cedric Benson, and a couple of long TD passes from Rex Grossman. From the Lions, expect a fired-up first few minutes, until the usual mistakes knock the team's spirits back down to Earth. Blowout, big-time. Enjoy, compliments of Matt Millen and William Clay Ford Sr.
