In the final meeting between these two teams for the season, both look to finish up on a strong note. Packers' QB Brett Favre torched us last time (9/24) for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Lions dropped a close game, 31-24. The Lions were amazingly favored to win that last game, but I don't think that's the case this time around. GB WR Donald Driver is back to his old Pro-Bowl form, hauling in 7 TD's to go with his 1100+ receiving yards. RB Ahman Green, who missed two games earlier in the year, is still on pace to crack the 1000-mark for the first time in two years. He's got 867 yards on the ground, with 5 scores while running and one receiving score (which he caught against Detroit in the first game).

The Lions are in shambles, in case you haven't heard. Head coach Rod Marinelli is taking alot of flak for "going for it" on 4th-and-goal last week, when a FG was much-needed to get the Lions back within one score. The rushing attack is useless, and it took yet another hit when we lost Kevin Jones for the rest of the year, and perhaps much longer. Back-up Arlen Harris is expected to try and fill those shoes, although he has had little success with his limited carries so far this season. Look for Favre to attack the secondary again, exposing the holes and mistakes that so often have undermined the Lion's aspirations. Without starting DT's Shaun Rogers and Shaun Cody, expect Ahman Green to be used heavily as well, especially if the weather is typical in Green Bay for this time of year.

I think the Lions will blow this game, which is the easiest to win out of the final three left. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised at an upset, which will cause the Lions to lose it's future franchise QB, and keep the team in Millen's Misery for another year.

I'm going to have to start turning the Final Score thumbs on these posts to "up" since the Lions keep doing what it takes to get the #1 Draft Pick. And here's the latest twist: Mike Williams led the team in receiving yardage. Wow. Are we going to keep him, or dump him after the Super Bowl? Or is this a clear sign that the franchise wants that top pick, and they're willing to allow the dog-house players to get big PT to make sure of it? Hmmmm.....

Most likely, it's: the players have given up, there's no gas left in the tank both physically and emotionally, and there's nothing left to go for at this stage of the season. I believe that's the biggest reason for the Lions losing so much all these years. There's so much trust missing between the coaching staff, the locker room, the front office, the owner's box, and most importantly the seats at Ford Field. It's like a soap opera, Lions-style. The seats don't trust the owner's box or the front office; the locker room used to not like the seats, but have since switched their positions to dislike of the front-office and themselves; the front office is just kind of oblivious to the whole thing, believing that something good is being built, and someday they'll be able to laugh about the whole thing; the coaching staff is just desparate for money, and are basically hired mercernaries getting paid to be shot at by the evil media and the seats, while buying time for the front-office to get the locker room straightened out; and the owner's box is usually empty because the owners are in Florida cooling their toes in the salt water and NOT watching football.

Oh, the game? Jason Hanson kicked three field goals, we went backwards in the fourth-quarter when we absolutely needed to go forward, and we're still in the driver's position on that top pick with two playoff teams coming up. Go Lions!
