RB Kevin Jones messed up his left ankle pretty bad at the end of yesterday's game against the Vikings, and it is said (although early) that he could be out for the rest of the season, and even perhaps longer. Jones had a very tough day trying to run, losing a total of three yards on nine carries. He did catch a nifty TD, though, thereby making him the default Lions Player of the Game. After 13 games, the Lions have had a terrible running game, and that was usually WITH Jones taking most of the hand-offs. QB Jon Kitna is still second on the team in rushing, and he's slower than Michael Vick's HumVee in the Atlanta rush hour. We've already lost rookie (and third-round pick) Brian Calhoun to injury, as well as Shawn Bryson. We could have really used Artose Pinner right about now.

Jeez...that game was horrible. I'm glad I didn't watch the whole thing.

Jones has now officially been placed on the Injured Reserve list for the Lions. He was having a breakout season, at least as far as his involvement in the Lions offense and his pass-catching abilities. I'm sure he would have also been near the 1000-yard rushing mark if not for the Lions terrible defense and the fact that they often had to throw the ball in order to catch up to the other team's offense. Hopefully he can put in the hard work it'll take to get healthy and make a solid comeback.
