I'm hearing rumors that Bill Cowher is going to bolt after the season and take the head coaching job now vacant at North Carolina State.

Cowher's wife played basketball at the NC State and the family owns a home in the area where they live in the off-season.

This is the same school that produced the number one overall pick in this year's draft, DE Mario Williams as well as the 22nd pick in the first round, OLB Manny Lawson and the 26th pick in the first round DT John McCargo. That team finished only 6-4. This year the team finished 3-9 and despite the fantastic recruiting, the head coach got canned earlier in the week.

This school is loaded with talent and seems like a perfect fit for Cowher. I'm sure he'd like to add a BCS Championship to his Superbowl ring.

Anybody want to place a wager on the chances Cowher is still with Pittsburgh next season?

Well, he declined, so this thread is now useless.

He declined today. Two months from now maybe he'll be telling a different story. It's not like he would accept now and walk out on the Steelers with five games still to play this year. That's just not the way Cowher is. He wouldn't leave the team in a bind.

You seem awfully quick to label things useless.
