Doghouse receiver Mike Williams was a highly-touted first-round draft pick two years ago, when the Lions selected him as the "best player available" (good call, Millen). Now, he's continually on the very end of the bench, drawing a hefty salary to not play for Detroit. The Lions have tried numerous others for that third and fourth receiver positions (Az Hakim, Corey Bradford, who's now back with the team after getting cut, Shawn Bodiford, etc, etc.). Here's yet another indication of how far into the doghouse the Lions coaches have Williams at: the newest fourth-receiver for the team is, get this...Josh McCown! Yes, our back-up QB is now ahead of a #10 overall draft pick at receiver!! If it weren't for the cap hit, Williams would have already been gone, but as it stands now he'll ride out this season on the bench and then be released after the Super Bowl (the only time that game can be associated with the Lions is when they'll be able to cut somebody). I find it hard to believe that BMW is a worse receiver than McCown, but things are bad for him with this coaching staff and front office.
One more reason to, you guessed it, FIRE MILLEN.
