I watched the new 30 for 30 on espn last night, "Straight out of L.A." They talked about 2 stadiums that Al Davis wanted to build, one in Irwindale, and one in hollywood park.
Does anyone have any renderings? I know Irwindale was a pretty done deal with an abandoned rock quarry picked out, but the raiders pulled out and had to go to court over this.
I don't remember those options from back then. I just remember the possible move to that stadium that they were going to build in Sacramento. (They actually started it, but was abandoned.)
Why doesn't this poster child for altzheimer's just wait for the A's to vacate, tear down the mausoleum side of the stadium and build a mirror Mount Davis on the other sideline? Is this a plan that he has, or is he wanting a totally new stadium these days?

That sounds like the smart thing to do, but how long til the A's move? We talk about this on bbf and no one has that answer, espically in this econnomy. Al Davis wanted to add luxary boxes to the collisum so he might be happy with new additions to oakland.

They actually started the stadium in Sacramento? I didn't know that. I remember hearing rumors that they may go there back then, but I never heard anything about stadium construction.
Speaking of the A's leaving, I think that the A's and Raiders should both go to San Jose eventually.

Uh, the Niners stadium is on the ballot in June in Santa Clara county, I really doubt Davis would go south and compete with that if the Niners do move.
One thing that was clear on the most recent ESPN 30 in 30 program, Davis is still looking for that stadium deal, and he'd move ANYWHERE to get it. Oakland better be prepared to lose the team a second time.

This is the hole in the ground in the Arco Arena parking lot that was supposed to be that multi-purpose stadium in Sacramento.
