New Bills' General Manger Buddy Nix has nixed the entire 2009 coaching staff. And I say, that's a good start!
Press reports have Bill Cowher, Brian Billick and Marty Schottenheimer as the top gets for the top gig in Buffalo. Billick could be a great choice. The Bills have the foundation of a great defense mostly already in place. Marcus Stroud can shut down the running game. Paul Posluszny is the best middle linebacker that seemingly nobody outside of Happy Valley knows exist. Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsey and Aaron Maybin can get after opposing quarterbacks. Terrence McGee, Jarius Byrd and Donte Whitner give Buffalo a secondary to be feared and perhaps the best safety tandem in the NFL.
Fred Jackson is a running back ready to dominate the league. Marshawn Lynch can be a beast. Can you say two 1,000 rushers in Buffalo in 2010?
With TE Shawn Nelson and WR Lee Evans young and under contract there is no reason the right group of coaches shouldn't be able to rebuild the awful offensive line, coach up the talent and just put anybody at QB and win.
Remember, Billick's Ravens went 12-4 and won a Superbowl with Tony Banks and Trent Dilfer starting at QB.
