Ok I will start, here are a couple of ones I remember. I do not want to steal the thunder of another, so I will just mention two.

I was a youngster at the time, and am not sure of the exact year, late 70s early 80s. It was the Thanksgiving game against the Bears, in which the game went into overtime. The Bears won the coin flip, and then returned the OT opening kickoff for a TD.

This one is more recent, it was that Lions v Vikings game where Joey led the team to what looked like the game tying touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Only to have the long snapper (Mulbach or something like that) botch the PAT.

I am sure everyone has a few memories, of the like. Perhaps, it would be cathartic to share if you are a fan of this team. If not a fan perhaps, it will be worth a few laughs?

For me, the best melt-down by the Lions was when Marty Mornhinweg won the coin toss to begin overtime against the Bears a few years back, and GAVE them the ball. His reasoning was that the Bears would have a hard time playing INTO THE WIND. Needless to say, they blew the game.
