Am I the only person who can think of about 30 players who should be inducted into the HOF before Walker is even remotely considered for the honor?

OK, so I'm not crazy. For a minute there I thought I'd missed something. Because I cannot recall anyone talking about Walker being an "all time great" or "Hall of Fame bound" towards the end of his career.
A very good player, yes. But great? Hall of Fame worthy? I dunno about that.

Walker should definitely be in the HOF, the USFL HOF.
Or perhaps Herschel could get into the Pro Football HOF as a contributor. Remember, if Minnesota had not made that awful trade with Dallas for him -- the Cowboys Dynasty of the 1990s almost certainly would have never been. Jimmy, Jerry and Herschel made that team possible.

I see that Darryl Talley is being considered as well. I mean really, Darryl Talley?? A good linebacker to be sure. Really good. But Hall of Fame material??????
If Talley makes it in before Tommy Nobis, Dave Robinson, Mike Curtis or Andy Russell it will be a serious blow to the credibility of the Hall. There are so many more deserving football players at every position.

It's just the preliminary round. 120 candidates or so, and that's it, candidates. The four worthies you mentioned are beyond the time period for modern candidates. (the order you placed them is the order of worthiness, imo.) It's no slight to them that Talley is on the first list of the process.
I like both seniors candidates this year. I feel that Dick LeBeau is long overdue, and am pleasantly surprised by Floyd Little's recognition. I wonder how much it has to do with his being featured in the Ernie Davis movie, but it's not a bad choice. Of course, there are potential seniors candidates who are more deserving.
