ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4406963) is reporting that he is close to signing a 1 year deal with the Vikings.

I've always been a Favre fan, so I'm a little late to the "enough already" bandwagon, but this is ridiculous

REE-DICULOUS!!

I really don't know what to say. I think his return is based on beating the Packers. October 5 on MNF, Vikings vs Packers!

I bet he gets injured early on in the season and just kind of fades away. Good bye to the consecutive games played streak.

Brett Favre told ESPN before the Minnesota Vikings' game on Monday that he suspects he may have a cracked rib.

Favre hasn't had an official diagnosis, but he says taking a deep breath causes discomfort. The 39-year-old quarterback isn't listed on the injury report and no other other Vikings official mentioned the injury pregame.

The three-time MVP says he has no plans to wear any kinds of special padding, saying "the damage is done." Favre is expected to play the entire first half against the Houston Texans.

Favre's agent Bus Cook wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press that he didn't know if Favre has a cracked rib but "he'll play as far as I know."

Favre, who signed a $25 million deal with the Vikings on Aug. 18, completed just one pass for four yards over two series in his Minnesota debut just days later.

I don't care how many games he's played in, how foolish he's making Fran Tarkenton look or if he wins a fourth MVP this season. I still think we should start pronouncing his name correctly.

What other athlete gets away with this? FAV re!

Fortunately, there is a certain southern team with a better record and a former Purdue QB . . .

Who just happened to have a perfect passer rating in the win against the Patriots last night...

Drew is having an excellent season, as are Chris Johnson Adrian Peterson and Peyton Manning.

Worst case scenario is the MVP goes to someone like Kyle Orton!

It is amazing to think that the trade that sent right to draft LaDanian Tomlinson and the ability to draft Drew Brees for the right to draft Michael Vick was once considered a hugely lopsided trade for Atlanta.

It is possibly more amazing that Brees could potentially be doing all of this for the Miami Dolphins! Apparently Daunte Culpepper was the better choice at the time, lol.

I hope Brees does prevent Favre from winning a fourth NFL MVP. Not because of the way he pronounces his name, which does annoy me, but because Brees deserves some recognition and respect for once!
