The Arena Football League will soon announce that it is folding, multiple media outlets reported on Monday.
Arizona Rattlers owner Brett Bouchy said the league will also declare bankruptcy, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Tough economic times...
It's sad that this league will fold. I only got a chance to attend one game and that was last year.

Yes, I'm glad. Always thought of the AFL as an abomination similar to the XFL. The riduculous scores, the tiny fields, the complete lack of defense, the complete lack of strategy -- other than run down the (tiny) fields and catch . . .
I hope the UFL learns from these mistakes and keeps the game purely divine and somewhat sublime.
I'm sure plenty of ex-AFLers will be in the new UFL.

But, this league had been in operation 22 years. I wonder what will happen to the AFL "minor leagues"?
The AF2 or whatever it is called (the minor league) will continue and I believe some of the AFL teams will join that.
I'm with football junkie, good riddance to the AFL. I could never get into it, though I briefly tried.

Seems to me if I was starting a new football league I'd be doing a bit more promoting than they are. We'll see how many people care on Friday I guess.
