Supposedly the UFL is going to start play in October 2009, but how much have they really done in trying to put together a marketable league? It's almost August. I haven't heard much about ticket sales in any of the four cities that the league is slated to start. Are tickets for any games actually on sale?
The tenative names and stadiums for the UFL are:
Las Vegas Locomotives--Sam Boyd Stadium
New York Sentinels--Citi Field
Orlando Tuskers--Citrus Bowl
San Francisco Rockfish--Mays Field (i.e. ATT Park)
Does this league really exist other than on paper? Do they really expect this league to succeed more than the one season XFL, which had tons of more marketing? How much of the stadium seats will actually be sold? (The Citrus Bowl is over 70,000 seats, and I doubt they'll sell all of them).
