So far this offseason the Patriots have been busy:
The got rid of Josh McDaniels(Patriots fans see it that way)
They brought back Tully Banta-Cain at LB.
They traded Matt Cassel and Mike Vrebal for a 2nd round pick(3rd one that round for them in draft)
They signed Fred Taylor.
The re-signed S James Sanders.
They signed TE Chris Baker.

The Cassel trade was getting something for him and dumping a veteran who they don't really need anymore to free up major cap space.

The Taylor signing spells an end to Lamont Jordan, Sammy Morris, or Lawrance Maroney as Patriots.

You really think Taylor's got the gas left in the tank to be the starting running back in New England?

Taylor certainly was near great in his prime. But his prime seems past. I hope he does make a comeback and have a Corey Dillion-esque season for the Patriots.

The Chris Baker signing could be big. He may free up Ben Watson in the red-zone, or the other way around.

I'm most interested to see what the org does with that No. 34 pick. Package it with their first round pick and move up to nab another LB -- Mayo didn't turn out that bad last year, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year or something....

Or maybe trade down or out of this year's draft entirely. This draft doesn't look particularly deep. Getting a comparable pick in 2010 might be a good move.
