What are your pet peeves in football?
My greatest pet peeve is coaches not using the QB Sneak. When you need a yard, just use the simpliest play in football. P;us when it is # and 1. The QB needs 3 steps at most.

My biggest pet peeve is when a team throws a little 3-yard pass when it's third-and-20 or something close to that. Why not at least throw the ball to the first-down line? Teams will always give you those 3 to 5 yards when it's third-and-long, but yards after the catch are rare in those cases.

Okay this is gross so refrain from reading if you're stomach is weak. I can not stand to see a quarterback lick his fingers on the field and I think we all know why. It totally makes me want to vomit everytime I see that.

Maybe the QB wants to make sure the defense doesn't want to touch the ball.
But the offense won't want to touch the ball either.

Mine is players overdoing their celebrations. No need to act like jerks and children when you do a simple tackle.

...on the opening kickoff.
That is one of my many pet peeves. As of this moment I can't think of what annoys me most (but rest assured there are alot of things).

I agree here, you get paid to make a dang tackle, why celebrate it so hard? We all can see you just did your job. I used to abhor Mark Gastineau's celebration after every sack. I can see celebrating after a big TD play, but after every little play is overboard.

Sounds like Jeremy Shockey.

Or the Lions' Roy Williams. They could be getting blown out by 50, yet he'll still jump up and signal a first down like he's just won the Super Bowl. He's a great player, but there's no need to celebrate that unless he's on a great team and just made a great play.

Ya racosun, now that you posted that, that is something else that annoys the heck out of me. Refs get paid to signal first down, let them do their jobs. I hate these guys that jump up and signal first down after a decent run or catch, no matter what the score is.

Players acting like little kids is my biggest peeve--excess celebrations of any kind, complaining publically about teammates, etc.

Like gridiron said, complaining publicly about teammates, coaches, etc. really bugs me.

I think this is funny but on NCAA Football 2005, one of my players got a sack of 1 YARD ON THIRD DOWN. He proceded to celebrate (because I wasn't paying attention at that point) and got me an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

I love how you can celebrate after touchdowns in OT and they won't hit you with a 15-yarder.

Talk like that should get a player sat down for a game or more- no need to throw your teammates and coaches under the bus, simply inexcusable.

Uh, the game is over when they score in OT. Throwing the flag then doesn't mean anything- what are they gonna do, penalize them 15 yards on kickoff the next game?

I know. That's what makes it fun.
