Former Lions franchise QB and current Miami Dolphins back-up Joey Harrington may finally be getting another crack at being a starting QB, if only for one game. Dolphins' starter Dante Culpepper has a bothersome shoulder injury that could cause him to miss this Sunday's game at New England, so Jumpin' Joey would be the starter if that happens. Miami coach Nick Saban said it has nothing to do with Culpepper's play or the teams' 1-3 start, it's purely a medical and health issue.

But what if Harrington dazzles? What if he leads the 'Phins to victory and chucks 320 yards and 3 TD's? He has the physical and mental talent to pull it off, which is why Saban traded for him this summer. If Joey can come back to Detroit this season as the starter for the Dolphins, he'd have a great chance at torching Dre Bly and that ugly secondary. It would make for great TV (Thanksgiving Day @ Ford Field, 12:30 on CBS) and a great side-show to the game.

Well, Joey did get a start today against the Pats, but it was far from dazzling. He went 26-for-41 for 232 yards and two interceptions in a 20-10 loss. I guess this is the first step toward some sort of vindication for Mooch, and maybe Marty too. Joey is nothing more than a back-up, and an overpaid one at that.
