This week is an absolute must win for the Bills. We're playing the Vikings at home. Even though this ins't a conference or division game it is a home game and the Bills are already 0-1 at Ralph Wilson Stadium this season. Dropping to 0-2 at home and 1-3 overall is completely unacceptable, escpecially when you consider we play at Chicago next week and we'd need Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas back in their primes to beat that team.
If we don't win this week we're staring down a 1-4 start and will likely be doomed to last place in the division, again.
Takeo Spikes will miss his third straight game. Luckily the Vikings rushing game consists of Chestor Taylor and Mewelde Moore -- neither of whom is exactly intimidating.
We all know Brad Childress, the Vikings' new head coach, loves to pass the ball. And Troy Williamson and Travis Taylor have put up impressive numbers so far this season. For the Bills this game will be won or lost in the secondary. The Vikings' offensive line might be the best in all of football with LT Bryant McKinnie, LG Steve Hutchinson, C Matt Birk, RG Artis Hicks, RT Marcus Johnson -- not to mention FB Tony Richardson and TE Jermaine Wiggins. Unless Ko Simpson or Chris Kelsay plays the best game of their career, I can't see the Bills getting any pressure on QB Brad Johnson.
I know London Fletcher can stuff the run and if Donte Whitner, Nate Clements and Terrence McGee can shutdown the Vikings' passing game, we should annihilate them.
It would be nice to see Losman tear apart the vastly over-rated Vikings' cornerbacks. I can see him passing for 300 yards this week. And Willis McGahee should be able to run all over this defense. The question is, will they, or will it be another long cold winter in Buffalo?
