The curse lives! Alexander is out at least 2 weeks.
Maurice Morris will step in.

That's why I considered drafting Portis less risky than getting Alexander.
There is a curse, indeed.

I know this seems silly but a lot of NFL players are really into the Madden video game series, most of them have grown up their whole lives playing its incarnations.
There is a huge amount of ego involved when players jockey to get on the cover. And around the league there is a lot of mean-spirited envy of the player that does make the cover. It wouldn't surprise me if many players were actively gunning for the Madden poster boy. That's one way of explaining this "curse", just plain old fashioned jealousy, envy and malice.

Just think Peyton Manning almost made the 07' cover, could the curse have struck him?

An even bigger thing for the players is their rating. They always think it should be higher and that they should be faster. According to Madden there's only 1 guy who ever told John he should be rated lower, Emmitt Smith.

He was humble guy and he is a hell of a dancer! But every player thinks their speed should be 99 and their strength 95. Why can't they just make their millions and shut heck up??

Maybe it's the Super Bowl loser curse...

Could be! Alexander, McNabb, Faulk (before he lost the Super Bowl), George.

And how about the Campbell's Soup curse?
TD, McNabb, can't remember the other guy. Think it was Warner, though.

Maybe it's the Super Bowl loser curse...
That would explain 3-0 :).
I am confident we will not only be back into the playoffs this year, but do some damage while we are there.

No, the Super Bowl loser curse says nothing about how good the team will do, just that they will lose an impact player to injury. Alexander fits the bill nicely...

I thought it did say something about what happens the next year, as so many fail to make the playoffs the following season.
Like the Eagles, Panthers, Giants, Raiders, etc.

There's two different ones, IIRC.
