With the game clock winding down, Charlie Frye made a spectacular pass to Kellen Winslow Jr., who somehow managed to stay in bounds and keep the clock moving while Cleveland was at the five yard line. On the next play, Frye was hurried and threw a pass intended for Braylon Edwards. However, it never got there. Chris McAlister picked it off, and the Ravens set up shop at their own 20-yard line. They drove down the field, with a drive punctuated by several catches by Mark Clayton, one coming on a play where Steve McNair was hit hard as he threw, and the pass was well behind Clayton, but he somehow managed to catch it. Eventually, the drive reached a 2nd-and-2 on the Browns' 33-yard line. McNair threw an incompletion on second down, bringing up 3rd-and-2 on the 33-yard line. Jim Fassel then made a very questionable play call, opting to throw a play-action pass instead of handing the ball off, running down the clock, and possibly getting even closer. The pass fell incomplete and on came Matt Stover for a 52-yard field goal in a 14-12 game. Stover's kick was dead center, and the Ravens took a 15-14 lead. After the kickoff, Frye and the Browns got the ball and managed one play. Frye dropped back to pass, threw to Braylon Edwards, but it was tipped and Josh Cribbs caught it for the Browns. He was then tackled and fumbled the ball, where it was picked up by Ray Lewis. After a kneel by McNair, the game was over.
