Do we need moderators yet, and how will you go about selecting them?

There are currently no moderators so it will basically evolve over time. As we get new members there will be those who wish to volunteer and as long as they are level headed, helpful across the site, quality type posters, then they would be welcomed to the mod side of the forum...

It is under the same button as edit is.

Not on mine, all I get is save, Go Advanced, and cancel, I know it should be next to save. You have it 12 man?

Never mind, I thought you could just delete everything in your post, but you can't. I don't think there is a delete button.

Until we get a greater number of members we can probably do without moderators. Everybody so far has been pretty respectful and the different forum areas seem pretty clear cut and easy to use.
That being said, if the time comes when we do need moderators, I would be happy to volunteer.

If you are a SERIOUS football fan, a truly good quality type poster, and you enjoy helping others, I have no problem allowing you to become a moderator now in a forum or two. Send me a Private Message letting me know and I'll make the change. It is early so there really won't be much to do beyond what you are doing now, but it also might inspire others to ask for the position as well...

I think their is a need for mods now since we are getting spam and advertisements. The quicker these can be deleted, the better the site will be. Right now, all I can do is report it.

We do have mods, the problem is we are only "Moderators" not "Super Moderators". A super mod can modify posts in all forums, while a "mod" can only modify posts in his/her respective forum.

I don't see the problem, they are deleted quite quickly. If you are a mod you can see that they've been deleted so that the admin staff can ban the IP etc (a normal user cannot see a soft deleted thread).

There is much of a problem, it would just be more convenient for one of us mods to delete a spam post than to PM or e-mail the resident Administrator, Fumble.

Forgive me for not being able to keep up...
If any of you are current mods on BBF... please shoot me a pm telling me who you are there..
I will get with Sean and we will make some additions to the number of super mods we have.
We do nuke them fairly fast, but to be honest we could use a little help.
ATLFalcons, check your PM.

I'm guessing there has never been a mod in the Dallas forum, as their are only 2 threads in there. I'd volunteer, but I don't really see a need for one in there right now. I'll try and spruce up the place a bit in there --- the playoffs should be interesting.
