Since it seems Mike Williams has a permanent place in Rod Marinelli's doghouse, and the fact that the team is weak at the WR position while awaiting the return of undrafted rookie Shawn Bodiford, the Lions have gone out and signed former Ram and Lion Az-Zahir Hakim. By waiting until now to sign him, the Lions only have to pay Hakim on a game-by-game basis. Since Hakim is an NFL vet, he would have had his entire contract guaranteed had the Lions signed him before this week. Hakim knows the Martz system well (he became well-paid by the Lions in his previous stint because of his success in St. Louis).
