Tiki only needs 1,214 yards this year to pass the 10,000 yard mark, something done by only 18 other running backs. Pretty impressive for a guy they never thought could run inside. He's also third on the active list, behind Dillon and James.

He rushed for 110 yards in week 1, now has 8,896
He rushed for 51 yards in week 2, now has 8,947.
He rushed for 64 yards in week3, now has 9,011
He rushed for 123 yards is game 4, now has 9,134
He rushed for 185 yards in game 5, now has 9,319

As a side note, he started the season as the active leader in yards from scrimmage and is in 20th place all time. With 1,893 yards this year, he'd move into 10th all time and pass the 15,000 yard mark.

Tiki is off to a good start in 06 as he led the NFL in yards from scrimmage in week 1 (he edged SF's Frank Gore by 1 yard).

Didn't have as good a week in week 2, with 51 yards. they never really seemed to be able to get the ground game going. He's now third in yards from scrimmage.

I noticed that pro-football-reference.com has him with 1,386 in 2002, espn.com has him with 1,387 in 2002. Anyone know who is right on that 1 yard?

The difference seems to be in week 12 vs. Houston. ESPN.com has him with 147 yards, Pro-Football-Reference has him with 146.

Anybody think he'll try to push for 2,000 rushing yards in his final season?

He's said he wants to go out on top.

I don't think it is possible. Not sure if you were basing this off projections from my previous post, but he actually at 971 thorugh 9 games (not 8 games), averaging 108 per game. To get to 2,000, he'd need to avergae 147 a game the rest of the way.

Tiki got torched last night. 27 yards on ten carries. Still he has 998 rushing yards on the season and is now at 9,758 on his career with six regular season games left to play.

Last night was definitely an aberration for Tiki. I checked the game logs and he hasn't rushed so poorly since week 13 of 2003! And before that you have to go all the way back to week seven of 2001 and in that game he caught nine passes for 74 yards.

I think he'll get there. All he has to do is average about 50 yards per game being that he plays all the rest of the games. It's too bad hes retiring. He still has 2 more good years in him. The question is will he be going to the HOF?

What a way to finish, in his final regular season game Tiki Barber rushed for a franchise record 234 yards, and three touchdowns!

Barber finishes this season with 1,662 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns to go along with 58 receptions and 465 receiving yards.

For his career, Barber rushed for 10,449 yards. His career touchdowns breakdown to 55 rushing, 12 receiving and one as a kick returner -- 68 overall in his career. Finally Barber finishes with 5,183 receiving yards.

Amazing.

Assuming this is in fact his last game, he'll have the record for most yards in the last game and most yards in the last season of a career. What a finish.

Top-10 all time in yards from scrimmage. 10,000 yars. Very solid career. AS a Giants fan, I hate to see him go - he can clearly play for a few more yers - but I understand why he made the decision.
