Are the Mannings overexposed? Nearly every other commercial is about one or two or all three of them.

There's no in-between option. Mine would be "It's starting to bug me, but I can live with it... for now." Last night's game was brutal on the radio. I flick the radio on and I hear "Manning, back to pass. Manning throws.... TOUCHDOWN! Manning, with the great strike to the receiver, and it's 13-7 Colts."
Unfortunately, the lack of marquee, marketable quarterbacks is going to mean the guy with the biggest gun gets the biggest exposure. When Carson Palmer shows he can do it for a couple seasons, he'll get more exposure. Michael Vick also is not quite there yet from a Pro standpoint.

I voted yes on this one.

The sad reality is that everyone makes a huge fuss over a guy throwing the ball all over the place putting up excellant stats but conveniently forget that he is horrid in the playoffs. I used to feel that way towards McNabb but he actually went to a Super Bowl and damn near won it, Peyton and Eli haven't.
For crying out loud: when a guy actually makes it to the Super Bowl let alone wins it, then you can put his face all over the place. Until then, lay off him. You are going to do more harm than good to your clients featuring a guy who hasn't won anything yet.

Good point. I wonder why Peyton Manning is so much more publicized than Tom Brady? If they HAVE to plaster a star QB's face all over the place, why not the guy who's seen it all and done it all?

Peyton "is more marketable" than Brady, whatever that means

I hink it also comes down to Peyton being more willing to put his face out there...Everything I hear about Brady is he isn't really interested in doing commercials, he's more interested in the team and winning the big one.

I've already switched to radio.

I've switched to radio for all night games, and some day games.
I've already switched to radio.
Personally, I cannot just listen to football. Either on the radio or having the TV it doesn't hold my interest and I just drift off and miss everything.

He has done commercials before, but true he is a team-first guy.

I tend to do that no matter what.
If the Colts falter this year, who will Manning throw under the bus? Without Vanderjagt around to set up for failure by not doing anything to better position the possible game-winning kick, I guess he'll have to blame coverage again.

Probably the linemen for not giving him enough time to throw, the receivers for not catching every catch he throws to them(no matter how badly they are thrown), then the running backs for not pounding out 100 yards each game

The NFL should market more players.

In the future Peyton Manning will have his genome mapped, licensed and sold to NFL teams so they can clone the perfect quarterback. Picture it, an NFL with 33 Peyton Mannings starting every week -- there will also be a team in L.A. by then.
Eli will have to market his genome to the CFL or maybe Arena League.

Maybe the coach, this is Dungy's sixth season and the Colts still can't win the big one (just like under Mora). Put Chucky Gruden in Indy and I bet the team would win it all next year -- not because he's a great coach but just because history has a way or repeating itself repeating itself.

I guess I don't have a problem yet, because a lot of Peyton's commercials are funny. Telling the Latte guy to rub some dirt on his burn is a panic. I had coaches tell me that when i was a kid!

They're funny commericals, true, but, as Ladder says, more players should be out there in commericals like that.
Frankly, I'm surprised Troy Polomalu isn't featured more. Or LaDanian Tomlinson. If his teammate Shawn Merriman didn't have his recent drug suspension, he'd also be someone to throw out there.

Isn't LT already in a commercial- the ESPN fast action football game?

I voted no on this one. The commerical of Peyton and Eli in ESPN studios is amazing.

Sure, but I'd like to see more non-football related spots that aren't just United Way. Video games are just extensions of that.
