Len Pasquarelli of ESPN has reported that Volek is likely to waive his no trade clause to move to another team (the ones mentioned specifically were San Diego and Cleveland).

Looks like we'll see Young starting sooner than we imagined (my guess is he'll be starting on a weekly basis before the seasons end).

Whilst he (Volek) has yet to be traded there has been no news from Jeff Fisher as to who will start week one against the Jets. It seems that it will be a game time decision on whether to go with Volek or Collins.

Volek has revealed that he the Chargers were one of the teams to be interested in him and a deal could be struck soon.

When Titans No. 3 quarterback Billy Volek travels to San Diego this weekend, he might be tempted to check out the real estate.

Volek said the Chargers are one of the teams who contacted the Titans after he asked to be traded last month.

Volek said he thinks there's a chance something could happen next week, after the Titans and Chargers play on Sunday.

"I know that they have a lot of interest. I know that they have contacted Floyd Reese and they contacted my agent," Volek said. "There is an opportunity for me there and it is a bridge I'll cross when it presents itself."

The Titans have yet to trade Volek because they haven't been satisfied with what they'd get in return.

Trading Volek to the Chargers before the game doesn't make much sense. He could divulge a lot of information about the Titans' playbook.

Why would he go to San Diego?? If he wants to start he should go to a team where he would be the clear cut #1.

I don't know that many teams would be willing to get him as their number one guy...He isn't a proven starter so it's probably not worth the perceived risk (if he can go where is a number two he'll automatically be better off than he is in Tennesse where he is the number 3 on the depth chart and not likely to rise at all).

The deal has been done, he has been traded to the Chargers for a sixth round pick (a fifth round pick if Volek plays in half of the offenses plays this year).

Unless Phillip Rivers implodes, Volek isn't going to see the light of day. I guess they needed someone to replace A.J. Feeley -- wasn't he technically there for a while?

But now he's second string instead of a third...I'm sure that makes all the difference.
