Here are snippets from an ESPN article about the story...

ESPN.com has learned that Eagles officials have granted Pinkston and agent Joel Segal permission to speak with other teams about a potential trade. It is not certain what Philadelphia would be seeking in return for Pinkston, who could be extraneous, given the glut of receivers on the roster.

As of Tuesday afternoon, three teams had indicated an interest in Pinkston, a second-round selection in the 2000 draft. At least two of the three receiver-needy franchises would likely view Pinkston as a starter, if he is healthy. Pinkston has conceded, though, he is not pain-free yet as he continues to recover from the Achilles injury suffered last summer in training camp.

Realistically, what can the hope to get for Pinkston? At his smaller size and coming of a reasonably serious season long injury I don't see his potential value being all that great.

At this stage, they would prolly take a late round pick for him.

They should have kept Pinkston on the roster. I'm sure some team would have traded them a case of tastykakes for him. Mmm....they're yummy! And Andy Reid looks like he's eaten about a billion of them.

Also, am I the only one that noticed that every single person who's posted on this thread is a moderator of something? We need less moderators and more posters! And I don't mean the kind you put on a wall -- just incase any of you were taking that too literally.

It's not so much that there are too many moderators as it's more like there are too few members who post. Out of 99 members, 26 haven't made a single post and another 17 members (not counting two who I know have just joined) have made five or fewer posts.

As I said I don't think we could get much for Pinkston...Also, I'm not too dissapointed with either Detmer or Pinkston being cut (I've been calling for Detmer for a while now).

I see the Eagles also signed AJ Feeley, remember in 2002 when he was a highly touted backup?

Those of you who read the original NFL.com article on the release of the players, what did you think of Donovan McNabb's and Andy Reid's comments about the players? To me they were hilarious.

In Reid's statement to the press he supposedly said, "Todd has had seven great years here for the Philadelphia Eagles. There is no one that I have respected more than Todd, who has helped us win a lot of football games."

I'm sorry Andy, but what Todd were you watching? Cause the one I was watching, was a first round draft pick who caught less than 3,000 yards in a seven year career.

Then McNabb chirps in with, "Todd is a guy that I really enjoyed playing with. He was here for six years and we had a lot of success together. I'm going to miss having him here."

I thought it was seven years? Oh well. Then he said virtually the same thing about Koy -- like McNabb is some type of cliche spewing robot.

"I've spent a lot of time with him in meetings and on the field together," said McNabb. "He is a real student of the game and I've learned a lot from him. It's a tough loss for the team, for our locker room and as a friend."

These NFL.com pieces are such snowjobs!

That shows precisely why I rarely visit NFL.com and never use it for news...Whilst you can't blame them for it, nothing negative is released and the above statements seem all too commonplace. Give me ESPN or even Yahoo! for football news. [/rant]
