Should I feel ashamed for being a bengal's fan??? Today I wore my bengal's jersey to school ( I live in georgia ) and I got a lot of criticism. A lot of people were telling the Vick was better than Palmer and all of that. It actually kind of pissed me off, Vick is clearly a lot worse than Palmer. So my question is should I feel bad for liking a team out of my state???

I don't have any problem with someone liking a team out of state, as long as they stick with their team. I have never liked it when people switch from team to team depending on who is winning. I am a Falcons fan, but I agree that Palmer is better than Vick.

Wear that jersey proudly, young man.
I agree with cbenson5. I'm annoyed by the bandwagon fans that come out of the closet when their team is winning and disappear when they go 4-12 (seen many Raider fans recently). You started cheering for the Bengals at a time when they hadn't gone to the playoffs in 15 years, that qualifies you for pre-bandwagon status.

I started watching in 2002, I just barely missed bandwagon status. It was the 2nd week and my mom was rooting for the Browns and being against her, I rooted for Cincinnati. And the Bengals lost, badly.

I don't like bandwagon fans, or people who root against their home team. I know a lot of people here in Washington who root for other teams that I respect more than the bandwagoners because they have been fans of their team for a long time. If you stick with your team through losing seasons, I look at them more highly than bandwagoners.
I still like to root for my home team.

I know how ya feel. I grew up in New York as an Oakland Raider fan, I have always followed them. Used to get picked on, especially since NY has 3 pro teams to choose from. Stick with yer team, nothing wrong with rooting for an out of market team.
BTW, the Raider Nation is still going strong, Mordeci  More like, you don't see any 49er fans anymore :p

I started rooting for the Patriots in 1999, when I lived in Boston. That year they were 8-8, the next 5-11, then we won the Super Bowl and haven't looked back since!
I take a LOT of heat here from people who call me "fair-weather fan" or "bandwagoner" or "flavor of the month fan". But the truth is I used to live in Boston, so I like the Patriots and Red Sox.

Thank's guys. So that means I missed bandwagoner by an inch :D. Here's one my friend is a dolphins fan. He lives near me, his dad started like the dolphin's because he loved watching Dan Marino. But he started liking them when they were good. SO is he a bandwagoner?

Not neccessarily. If he is young, as I suspect he is, and he likes the Dolphins because that was his dad's team, than I wouldn't consider him a band wagonner. However, if he likes to jump around and has had like 3 or 4 favorite teams, and only when those teams have been winning, then that to me is a band wagonner.

I like to just root for any team that is winning. Sometimes my allegiences change mid-game. Earlier this week for a brief time I was even a Houston Texan's fan! David Carr ruled.
Seriously, born in NY and have been a Bills and Giants fan my whole life -- most of which was spent in Pennsylvania and California. Most people in Cali don't really care. But try wearing a Giants jersey in Philly. You'll be dodging bullets, bricks and plastic beer bottles.
