What a great coach. How long do you think he will stay in Seattle? I think the new training camp says he will be here a while.

Hey 12 I'm a lifelong Seattlelite just transplanted to the east coast. Mike Holmgren is a great coach who built this team his way (even if he isn't GM anymore). From what I've gathered he will probably finish out his contract with the Hawks unless possibly he is offered the chance at total control over a team again. The thing I like about him the most is his loyalty towards his players. GO HAWKS!

If Green Bay goes 4-12 again this year they might be begging him to come back and offer him positions as GM & Head Coach. You Seahawks fans better root for the Packers this year.

Is he a great coach or has he had great teams?

He plucked up Brett Favre when he was a little regarded player of questionable talent and helped turned him into one of the top five quarterbacks in the last 15 years -- enough said.

Holmgren is a great coach, I dont recall the Pack and the Hawks teams being powerhouses before he took them over. Holmgren is a 1st generation Walsh prodigy, and a great QB coach/developer. Not only did he turn Favre into what he was, but look what he has done for Hasselbeck.

but look what he has done for Hasselbeck.

Exactly!

Holmgren hand picked Hasselbeck and brought him over while he was unknown and potentially a big risk. Holmgren turned him into one of the premier QB's in the game. He is well liked by the players, and can really fire up his team.

As a Lions fan, I was ecstatic that Holmgren went to the Left Coast. His Green Bay teams were always tough, and had a tight grip on the entire league for a good while. I'm not sure how much longer he'll be up in Seattle. Before he got the 'Hawks to the Super Bowl last season, wasn't he sort of on the hot seat? I know they stripped him of his GM duties, and I believe there was some talk of moving him out of Seattle altogether. I think he earned a few extra years for what he's accomplished so far, but I think at some point not too far into the future he'll be coaching San Fran or some other lowly franchise. He's a great team builder and talent-developer. This guy will have an NFL gig as long as he wants one.

I hope he coaches another 10 years, all in Seattle. :D
