I don't know about you guys but I've been impressed and suprised by Chad Pennington so far. He really looks like he will return to his old form when the season starts. With a 90% healthy Pennington, the Jets would actually have a shot if only we had a game breaking wide reciever. There is of coarse the young and unproven O-Line we have. But football is never a predictable sport. And with the injury problems the Patriots and Bills are known to have and Miami's recovering QB who knows? Maybe our playoff hopes aren't as far off as we think they are?

Let me hear your opinions on this.

Hey let's keep this positive people we all know we're only one 4 win season away from having Brady Quinn or Adrian Peterson in a Jets uni. Keep the faith; this team can win four games!

I'ld like to see your arguement as to why the Jets can't have at least an 8-8 season this year.

Chad Pennington season opener vs. Tennessee:

24/33 319 yards 2 TD 0 INT

I don't know. It looks like the old Chad Pennington is back. Still have any doubts?

Pennington has been looking good all year: 1,015 passing yards, 67.2 CMP%, 102.3 QB Rating. Ironically Pennigton has been playing better on the road than at home. The Jets have yet to win a home game this season. They're at Jacksonville this week and that is going to one tough game. But I think the Jets log their first home win againt Miami in week six.

Patrick Ramesy is currently listed third on the depth chart. I knew the whole quarterback competition in pre-season was just a flimsy pre-text by Eric Mangini to motivate Pennington: stupid mistake by a rookie head coach. When you have an established star quarterback who is the man, you trust that player. How many more mental mistakes will Mangini make this year? I think a lot.

Refer back to my 08-08-2006, 12:19 AM post on the Jets QB Thread where/were I predicted this all two months ago -- am I psychic? Oww...spooky! Yeah I know it's a little early for Halloween but why not.

I think the Jets will become serious playoff contenders. They probably won't win the division but they will try to get the wildcard.
