I'm wondering how Brodie Croyle has been doing. Is he the back up to Green or is he the third string quarterback? How has he been doing in practices? I really enjoyed watching him at the University of Alabama. If he ever gets the starting job I will become a big Chiefs fan. If he can stay healthy he will be an excellent quarterback.

I believe he's been struggling with a shoulder injury throughout training camp. I don't think he's in the running for the back up job, but is going for the No. 3 position behind Huard.

That's what I was worried about. I know he had a shoulder injury in high school. He has torn his ACL in both of his knees at college. I'm afraid he won't be able to stay healthy enough to hang around the NFL. Since he had a healthy senior season, I was hoping the injury bug might be behind him. It would be neat to have a fourth quarterback from Alabama win a Super Bowl.

OK, I know Snake Stabler and Joe Willie Namath, but who was the other Alabama QB to win a Superbowl?

Oh yeah I'm sure Herm Edwards wants to deal with another injury-prone starting QB -- guess he didn't get enough of that in NY with Pennington.
Besides, Trent Green is a very young 36 and should be able to play well into the dawn of the next decade.

Is he? I know he did miss an entire season due to injury (the year Kurt Warner led the Rams to a Super Bowl win) but can't remember the nature of that injury. He's obviously well recovered without lingering effects, though.

I don't like to see anybody get hurt, but I am hoping that Croyle will get a few snaps this week and maybe start at some point this season.

I think Damon Haurd's play in week four and the multiple touchdowns he threw probably means he stays the starter until Trent Green returns. But yeah it would be interesting to see what Croyle can do. They're going to need to find out eventually.
