The idea behind this thread is to create a team of 23 players that you feel are the best in the Hall of Fame by position: on offense, 11 players; on defense, 11 players. Select one place kicker -- though you are not going to have much variety at that position. Also select one enshrined head coach.
The only rules are that the players must already be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame -- so no players awaiting admission, i.e. Jerry Rice, Cris Carter, Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson, Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin or Tim Brown. The second rule is that players can only be used in the position that got them into the Hall of Fame -- so no offensive lines composed only of left tackles. Otherwise, go crazy. I'll start us out.
All-Time Pro Football Hall of Fame Offense:
LT Anthony Munoz
LG Michael Munchak
CE Mike Webster (tragic what he went through after his NFL career ended)
RG Larry Little
RT Jackie Slater
QB Joe Montana
RB Walter Payton
FB Jim Brown
TE Ozzie Newsome
WR James Lofton
WR Steve Largent
All-Time Pro Football Hall of Fame Defense:
DT Reggie White
DT Dan Hampton
DE Deacon Jones
DE Howie Long
LB Mike Singletary
LB Lawrence Taylor
LB Jack Lambert
CB Mel Blount
CB Mike Haynes
SS Ronnie Lott
FS Mel Renfro
PK Jan Stenerud
HC Bill Walsh
Throw together a team of your own. It's kind of fun.
