T.J. Duckett has been traded as a part of a 3 team deal. He goes to the Redskins. Is Clinton Portis going to be out that long?

Interesting, but there is no way in heck that Duckett will be considered a replacement for Portis. Duckett is a goal line basher, that's it.

Finally Michael Vick, and his cannon of an arm, has a target who can get down field in a hurry, beat out cornerbacks and generate big plays.
Vick to Lelie -- get used to hearing that.

I was looking for him to go to the Jets, but his role with Washington will be the same as it was here in Atlanta. Time to drop him from the fantasy team.

This is a weird trade, IMO, but does make sense for the teams involved. Running backs are plenty in the NFL, and their trade value isn't all that high. A third-round pick for a goal-line back is a bit sketchy, but with Portis' injury, I guess it's not too unreasonable of a price for Washington to pay. Duckett could actually be an every-down back if given the proper playing time and carries, although he won't be in Washington. I always saw Duckett as the future back in Atlanta. Warrick Dunn isn't a spring chicken, and he's approaching the age where production usually begins to fall off for most backs, especially little ones like he is. That said, Dunn should still be fairly productive for another season or two, and the WR help is an urgent need for Vick and the Falcons. That makes it a good move for them, too. The Broncos were caught between a rock and a hard place, with Lelie being disgruntled since Walker came to the Rocky Mountains. Washington will most likely be improved over last season, and could be a contender, so that third-round draft choice won't be that high in the round. But getting a first-day pick for a receiver who most likely wouldn't have busted his behind to help the team is an upgrade for both this season and next, so the Broncos did good as well. Overall, everybody seemed to have helped themselves with the swap. IMO, the biggest winner must be Atlanta. If Lelie can finally overcome his ego and start producing like he was supposed to do, the Falcons are pretty scary to face. Mike Vick must really be wagging his tail about this trade.
