This thread was made so that we can discuss the Giants games, players, etc. of the 2006 NFL season as well as the playoffs. I will post game results and highlights after every game. Enjoy!

Giants defeat Jets 13-7 in 3rd preseason game.

Eli Manning threw 10 for 20 for 107 yards and 1 interception. Tiki Barber had 11 rushes for 60 yards. James Sims had 12 rushes for 45 yards. Brandon Jacobs had 11 rushes for 29 yards and 1 touchdown. Visanthe Shiancoe caught 2 passes for 35 yards. Tim Carter caught 4 passes for 34 yards.

On defense, Brandon Short had 2 sacks. R.W. Quarters and Charlie Peprah both caught 1 interception each. Jay Feeley kicked 2 out of 2 field goals.

The Defense is looking real good. That should allow Manning to relax more. The game against the Colts worries me. Of course the Colts are good, but I am afraid Eli will try to do to much beacause he is playing against his brother.

Giants defeat Patriots 31-23 in final preseason game. Giants end preseason with perfect 4-0 record.

Offense

Jared Lorenzen passed 10 of 15 for 116 yards. Tim Hasselbeck passed 2 of 2 for 53 yards and a TD. Brandon Jacobs had 15 rushes for 130 yards and 2 TDs. James Sims had 9 rushes for 34 yards and a TD. Willie Ponder caught 3 receptions for 51 yards. Mike Jennings caught 3 receptions for 37 yards. Darcy Johnson caught a 26 yard reception for a TD. Jay Feeley went 1 for 2.

Defense

Rookie Mathius Kiwanuka got 1 sack and 1 INT. Justin Tuck got 7 tackles and 1 sack. Adrian Awason had 1 tackle and 1 sack. Chase Blackburn had 6 tackles and 1 FF.

Giants lose to Colts 21-26 in season opener.

Offense

Eli Manning passed 20/34 for 247 yards and 2 TDs. He also got 1 interception. Tiki Barber got 18 rushes for 110 yards. He also caught 5 passes for 61 yards. Brandon Jacobs got 8 rushes for 54 yards and 1 TD. Plaxico Burress caught 4 passes for 80 yards and a TD. Jeremy Shochey caught 5 passes for 59 yards and a TD. Amani Toomer caught 4 passes for 41 yards.

Defense

Antonio Pierce got 7 tackles. Sam Madison and Gibril Wilson both got 5 tackles. Fred Robbins got 3 tackles and 1 sack. R.W. McQuarters got 2 tackles and 1 INT. Jay Feeley missed 1 FG.

Good game by the Giants, and the D really stepped it up in the second half. Unfortunately for them, they were playing the Colts.

Good game, the Giants need to tighten up and take less penalties. It seems like every time they had a drive going, they'd get sent back with a penalty. The one on Carter toward the end was a heart-breaker. You just had the feeling they were going to pull it off, and the ref totally blew the call. The Giants still had a long way to drive, but I hated to see it end (more or less) like that.

Overall, their running game and passing game was very good. Their run defense was excellent. My concern, as it was last year, was their pass defense. They gave up too may long third down conversions, and didn't get enough pressure on Peyton. Hard to use this game as any indication of where they'll wind up because the Colts passing attack is so potent.

Next week is huge, falling two games behind Philly will be tough to swallow.

Eli Manning passed 31 for 371 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. Tiki Barber got 21 carries for 51 yards. Amani Toomer got 12 receptions for 137 yards and 2 TDs. Plaxico Burress caught 6 passes for 112 yards and a TD

Defense

Carlos Emmons got 11 tackles. Gibril Wilson got 8 tackles and a forced fumble. Osi Umenyiora got 3 tackles and 1 sack. Jay Feeley kicked 1 FG.

Plaxico Burress caught a 31 yard pass from Eli Manning for a game-winning TD in overtime.

I think our defense played very bad. Especially in the 2nd half, the Jaguars were able to make good passes and runs. Eli and the offense werent able to.
