The Jets have acquired Kevan Barlow, 6th year pro out of the University of Pittsburgh, from the 49ers. Barlow, 27, is expected to compete for and win the every-down running back position for the Jets. (Assuming he passes his physical.)
In exchange the Jets gave up an undisclosed draft pick in the 2007 draft. Barlow rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2003. In his career he has rushed for 3,614 yards on 891 carries for an average of 4.1. Barlow has also caught 137 passes for another 1,143 yards. He has scored a combined 27 touch downs.
So is Kevan Barlow the solution to the running back problem with the Jets?
