This is the 1st post in this Atlanta Falcons forum! I'm looking forward for the Falcons to have a good season, we have the returning nucleus of Vick, Crumpler, Kerney, and Dunn. We also have solid offseason acquisitions in Lawyer Milloy, Chris Crocker, Wayne Gandy, and John Abraham. I think the Falcons can finally get a Super Bowl victory this year.

I don't know what happened to them last year. I was disappointed. I will have a tough time cheering too hard for them after seeing them lose the Super Bowl a few years ago and the NFC championship 2 yrs ago - wanted them to win both.

They started 6-2 and just dropped after that. I think Mora has what it takes to be a big time coach. The only thing we need right now is a kicker.

The Birds are looking good in training camp! Other than the injury to Brian Finneran everyone has been healthy.

This will definitely be one of the top teams in the league this year. I think adding Abraham was really big. If he can stay healthy and happy, he's a big-time force to be reckoned with. Like I said in the other thread, Vick needs some weapons. It was a big gamble to give all that money to Peerless Price (or is it Priceless?), and they have yet to recover. I'm sure they'll look to add another reciever before camp breaks, at least they had better. That's probably the only thing missing from this team right now, as far as I know anyways.

I'm hearing rumors they're going after Ashley Lelie and Jerry Porter.

Both would be excellent additions. How can it be that Brian Finneran (spl?) has been Vick's main target for all these years? That's just plain ole fashioned stupid.

Lelie and Porter both have the speed to stretch the field vertically and Vick has the arm to get the ball to them. Either addition probably adds two or three wins to the column this year.

But do the Raiders or the Broncos really want to trade?

I'm kind of hoping this doesn't happen. But even if it does, I'm still sticking by my pick: Washington to win it all.

I think the Broncos would be more willing to part with Lelie than Oakland would be with Porter. If I had my choice, though, it would be Porter. He's proven more in this league than Lelie has, and aside from his recent whining, he's a pretty good reciever. It's kind of weird how a team like Atlanta can draft Vick #1, re-sign him to a huge HUGE deal, and not get him any help. More than Finneran or whatever his name is, Alge Crumpler has been his main target. Crumpler tends to "crumple" at least once a year, so he's not exactly Mr. Reliable. Porter or Lelie would upgrade the offense alot, and take some pressure off of the RB's. I hope they can work something out, this could be Atlanta's year finally if they do.

Out of his wide recievers Finneran has been the most consistent and clutch. It's really going to hurt Mike, but Roddy White and Michael Jenkins will step up.

There is not much activity on this site. I wish I knew a little more about football, so I could post some information or start some discussions. I really just enjoy watching football, but I don't keep up with statistics or know much about the history of the game except for Bear Bryant. Does anybody know how Keith Brooking has been doing. I assume he is still on the team. I've always liked him. How about that defensive end (Kearney i think). He seems to play with a lot of emotion. How is the team? Do we have a chance to compete this year?

I'm glad you're here and I hope we can stir up some more activity. About the team, Brooking is still a Falcon and so is Kerney. The Falcons defense will be strong this year with the additions of safeties Lawyer Milloy and Chris Crocker, DT Grady Jackson, DE John Abraham, and CB Jimmy Williams. I really think this team can win the Super Bowl, it all depends on the wide receivers.
