When was the first night football game ever played, who won, and what was the score?

Providence hosted but lost to Chicago Cardinals 16-0...I read about this not too long ago so the info was somewhat fresh, though I'd forgotten the score.

Yes that was the first NFL night game in history, November 6, 1929 but im looking for the first night game in all of football history. Good job though.

(Hint: It was before the NFL)

All right, here is another hint that may give it away for some folks.

Connie Mack was a coach in this paticular game.

Can I assume correctly that it was in Philly?

Philidelphia is involved but the game does not take place in Philly.

The Philadelphia Athletics defeat the Kanaweola Athletic Club 39-0 at Elmira, New York. On Nov. 21, 1902.

That is correct! The Philidelphia A's and Phillies joined together along with the Pittsburgh Stars to form a proffesional football league. Pro baseball players for example Christy Mathewson and Rube Wadell played. Incidently the first indoor football game ever played was also in this league before 3000 between New York and Syracuse on Decemeber 28 1902.

Good job.
