Domanick Davis entering his fourth year at running back out of LSU for the Houston Texans has not practiced in three weeks and there is no date set for his return. In December Davis had arthroscopic knee surgery after experiencing swelling after every game he played. He's not been near a football field since.

Since turning pro Davis has rushed for 1,031 yards in 2003 and caught another 351 for 8 combined touchdowns. In he bettered his rookie season rushing for 1,188 yards, stepping up his game to 588 yards receiving and combinging for 14 touch downs. Last year was a bit different, he missed games towards the end of the year but still managed to rush for 976 yards in only 11 games and catch 337 yards for 6 combined touchdowns.

In this April's NFL Draft, Davis was one of the main reasons the Texans decides not to draft Reggie Bush with the first overall pick in the draft or package their second and fourth round pick and move up to the middle of the first round and select a player like Laurence Maroney, Joseph Addai or DeAngelo Williams. The team didn't even take a player like LenDale White or Maurice Drew in the second round.

Wali Lundy a rookie drafted in the sixth round out of Virginia will be the likely starter in Davis can't start the season.

Without a running game the Texans will be even worse than last year. Reggie Bush as already shown flashes of brilliance in New Orleans. But it's much, much to late to draft him now. My question is how many games will the Texans win this year and do you see any reason to think this team will improve this year?

Is this the worst team in the NFL in 2006?
