Jevon Kearse won't be getting his Freak on in Philly no more...

In keeping with a long Eagles tradition of cutting underachieving, over-priced veteran players -- Kearse, a DE, has been jettisoned in the middle of $66 million contract. I guess he should have produced more than 3.5 sacks last season.

Kearse joins the likes of Pro Bowl players Troy Vincent, Hugh Douglas, Hollis Thomas, Jeremiah Trotter, Corey Simon and Bobby Taylor in the unemployment line.

Hey, the Eagles show you can never make too much money and still be a casualty. I applaud the moves they make.

Apparently Kearse is back with the Titans. But the Eagles have continued their roster slashing. The latest victim is two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes.

And with the acquisition of Asante Samuel, I won't be shocked if Lito Sheppard or Sheldon Brown is shown the door soon as well. I do think that would be a silly move. Brian Dawkins will be entering his 14th season and it might be time to let him go and transition Brown or Sheppard into a safety -- of the two I'd move Sheppard at RCB and move Brown to safety.
