View Full Version : The Pigskin Fever Top 25

Just got this idea, not sure how popular it will be - how about a weekly top 25 as voted on by posters here? Anybody interested?
If so, we should start with a preseason poll (as much as I hate them).
If you want, fill out your predictions for top 25, or as far down as you can go. And try to make it realistic, not just your favorite team #1 and the Ivy League #s 2-10.
I (or somebody else) can tally the totals at some point and come up with a true predicted top 25 if this gets responses.

Ah, but OSU still has Ted Ginn Jr. and Troy Smith. Although there's no Santonio, this team should still be pretty good.

They also have Pittman and Wells running behind a good line. OSU will not drop off in my estimation. They may have one of the best RB tandems in the country.

I don't know about USC in the top five to begin the season. They have to replace their entire starting backfield.I am sure they have plenty of talent, but they have to be able to perform.THey might not even be the top team in the PAC 10 this year.

1. Ohio State- 145
2. Texa- 140
3. USC- 134
4. Notre Dame- 130
5. Auburn- 129
6. LSU- 120

8. FSU- 105
9. Oklahoma- 99

16. Louisville- 57
17. Oregon- 56
18. Iowa- 39
19. Clemson- 32
19. Tennesse- 32
21. Alabama- 27
22. Nebraska- 26
23. Arizona State- 13
24. TCU- 8
25. Texas Tech- 7
Also receiving vote:
Boston College 5, South Carolina 4, Texas A&M 4, Colorado St. 2, UCLA 2, Utah 2, Central Florida 1.
This was interesting. Hopefully everyone will update them after play concludes on Monaday. IMO it would be best if everybody would do a new post each week rather than edit the old one. That we we would have archives and see how close some of us are to the final rankings.

Is anybody interested in reviving this? Since I don't feel like adding up 25 places, it could go to just ten, and start after this week.
The problem is that there are few teams that I have seen play this year. If I had free Saturdays, I would regularly post a Top 25.
P.S. I can't wait to see South Florida in two weeks.

If your internet company provides ESPN 360, then that's a great place to watch all the games. They're also usually available on demand for a while after the actual game.

4. LSU

I have a different problem. I'm usually stuck with one game, Cincinnati vs. Their Opponent. In fact, I'm looking at Nippert Stadium right now. The next time I post on PSF or BBF, I'll be looking at Nippert. Also, if you watch a game at Nippert and look at the closed end, look a little up, you can see where I live.
brady_branch

That's why you watch the good games on demand afterward. All of the teams in my top ten I've seen play for at least a partial game. I've seen a lot of LSU, USF, and Boston College, the latter two thanks almost entirely to ESPN 360. If you can, check out espn360.com.
I watched UC-Marshall, UC-Miami, and UC-Rutgers games as well. Against Miami, Cincy looked like a top ten-caliber team. Against Marshall, they looked kind of shaky, but decent nonetheless. And against Rutgers, they were not all that good at all. Hence their not even being in my Honorable Mentions.
