I was bored the other day, so I put this together for another site (this is where the trivia question stemmed from):

48 different quarterbacks have started Super Bowls. 24 different quarterbacks have won Super Bowls. 40 different schools have had a player start a Super Bowl.

And who says the SEC is the best conference?

You might want to switch Boston College to one win, and list Miami of Ohio with no wins. Or at least put astericks by those two listings. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

Only if I get to add a win to Navy and a loss to Louisiana Tech.

Why not two?

A team needs to score to win, last time I checked. More than a field goal, at least.

Because, if we're going to say the Seahawks were robbed in XL then the Cowboys were even more robbed in XIII. I don't consider X the result of bad calls (and other self-inflicted nonsense), just a game they could have and maybe should have won but failed.

Ah. I didn't see X, the first Super Bowl I watched was XII. XIII was just a great game. The Steelers got some breaks, the Cowboys did not.

As for XL, the self-inflicted nonsense trumps the bad calls as far as I'm concerned. They didn't execute when they had to. That's why they gave up the big playes when they did and didn't come close to any of their own. I was actually rooting for Seattle, actually, and it seemed like there was no sense of place or urgency.

The Seahawks could have played better, to be sure, and I wouldn't go so far as to say they were robbed, largely for the self-inflicted nonsense you mentioned. Lest we forget, Hasselbeck would never have needed to make the tackle he got penalized on if he hadn't thrown the pick that led to it. Still, how the four-letter word do you have an illegal block on a tackle?

That's my angle. I'm not going to make an excuse for any team that's lost. But if the Seahawks get to cry foul, so do I.

I guess the difference is that it was years before I was born. :D

I like that you're giving both Brady and Manning credit for winning.

Yeah, that was pointed out to me elsewhere.
